I love to be organized, and a single 42L AluBox with Trekpak dividers is an amazing solution for all of my cooking and food related items. While some may think the price point is high just for an aluminum box, note they are quite robust with solid construction [ EN AW-5754 (AlMg3) aluminum ]. Design features such as a rubber gasket seal underneath the lid to keep out dust, ability to stack similar size boxes on top of each other, can be hard mounted to things like roof racks, and two front latches are lockable. However, watch your fingers upon opening the latches as they spring out with quite some force!

The Trekpak organizer dividers allows one to set up the empty box however you like. The easy to install red U hooks attach walls together, and the included cutting tool does a great job. Just make sure you are completely good to go on your organizational design! Lay out all of your gear and experiment with different setups before making any cuts to the divider walls. It will get real expensive if you have to purchase more divider walls.

I have my AluBox divided into four sections:

1. pots + large items

2. camp lights, box of matches, and koozies

3. plates, utensils, and spices

4. a long section for roll of Al foil, chefs knife, and hand sanitizer

Plus the AluBox is a great blank canvas for all your stickers should you like to decorate it.

A minor drawback is that if you want to secure the box from opening, a ¼” diameter or smaller lock is required. The latches have a thru hole on the sides which when locked up will prevent the latch from opening.

AluBox is a privately-owned family company based in Denmark and established in 1999. Equip Expedition Outfitters in Salt Lake City, UT is the exclusive USA Distributor for AluBox products.

Purchased January 2016:

42L aluminum storage case, $257

Trekpak Padded organizer kit, $120

42L AluBox and Yeti cooler in the back of a truck.
